SMU's Workers’ Compensation Program is designed to provide income and medical benefits to employees who have sustained job-related injuries or occupational illnesses.

Supervisors must complete the following within 48 hours after an on-the-job injury:
- Report the injury to the Office of Risk Management (ORM) by the end of the shift
- Conduct the initial accident investigation
- Complete the First Report of Accident/Incident Form and return it to ORM within 48 hours
- Contact us for the nearest Workers' Compensation approved facility
