The Office of Police and Risk Management will maintain a strong partnerships with community members on all SMU campuses, to preserve life, protect property, reduce risk, and promote the educational objectives of SMU.
The Office is dedicated to reducing crime and risks, by providing community education, prevention, response, investigation, and recovery in a manner that supports life safety, strong partnerships, solid business sense, and property protection at all of SMU’s campuses.
Anita Ingram has more than 25 years of insurance, risk management, and loss control experience. Ms. Ingram has been leading Risk Management at SMU since 1996 and now serves as the lead executive responsible for Police, Risk Management, Environmental Health and Safety, Emergency Management on all three SMU Campuses.
Ms. Ingram’s Office actively builds and maintains critical relationships with other law enforcement and first responder agencies at the community, state, and federal level to support each of SMU’s campus communities. Her position plays a vital role in the ongoing security operations at the George W. Bush Presidential Center and further extends into executive oversight for all dignitary protection activities on SMU campuses.
Ms. Ingram leads the strategic direction for the University's Emergency Management and Business Continuity efforts and maintains oversight for the University's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), property and casualty, environmental health and safety, fire safety, work comp, and claims adjudication process.
