Online training is available for many of the services and software supported by the Office of Information Technology. For your reference, the links below provide a combination of instructional videos and step-by-step documentation.
Access.SMU Administrative Tutorials - Over 80 web based tutorials used for Academic Advising, Admissions, Campus Community, Financial Aid, Student Financials and Student Records.
Access.SMU Self Service Tutorials - Contains over 50 tutorials for Faculty, Staff and Students. Staff will find the TIMEaccess resources helpful. Faculty information on Gradebook, processing grades, and advising is available. Students can access instructions for enrolling, updating personal information and viewing academic and financial information.
Adobe Training Handouts- Adobe workshop handouts
Atomic Learning - Provides online software training using short video tutorials. There are over 30,000 tutorials available on over 100 different software programs.
Blackboard Online Learning Center - Features online tutorials, instructional videos and other learning resources on how to use Blackboard's current Learning Management system.
Inside.SMU - Over 75 training links providing a combination of instructional videos and illustrations.
Mactopia - Find product help for Microsoft Office for Mac.
Microsoft Office Online Training - Browse through hundreds of helpful tips on your favorite Microsoft products.
Microsoft Office Training Handouts - Office Certificate Program Handouts
SMU Financials - These instructional tutorials provide information on entering journal entries, inquiring information on vouchers and payments and using the eProcurement system.

Information Technology Workshops
Registration is required. Instructions on how to register in Access.SMU for an IT workshop may be found here. Workshops are free of charge for SMU faculty, staff, and students.
For student registration, please follow this link and include the class name, time, and date.
Upon registration a confirmation will be sent indicating the location of the class.
Statistical Software Training
SAS, SPSS, and MatLab
These are three of the most popularly used packages at SMU for analyzing and modeling data for a wide variety of application areas. Shirlene Pearson, Phd. from Academic Technology Services gears these workshops for the novice who has no prior experience using these packages or any other statistical software packages, as well as those who may need a refresher course.
