SMU has a cell phone contract with both AT&T and Sprint. Through these contracts, we are able to extend special discounts to SMU Students for personal lines of service. The discount applies to the cell phone plans only and not to the equipment or accessories.
AT&T Discounts
Students can receive a 10% discount on new and existing lines of service. This discount applies to both the voice and data plans but not to texting plans. The phone does not need to be in your name, however you will register the device under your SMU Email account. An email will be sent annually to your SMU address to reactivate the discount. Please use the @smu.edu format when registering your email.
Visit http://att.com/wireless/smustudents to shop online or to register an existing line of service. You may also visit the AT&T Store located at 5959 Royal Lane. That location is equipped to offer the discount for SMU Students.
Please note-- the discount takes one full billing cycle before it will be applied.
Sprint Discounts
Students can receive a 10% discount on new and existing lines of service with Sprint. This discount applies to voice and data plans ($39.99 plans and up). You will need your Student ID card to sign up for the discount. To receive the discount, visit one of the following Sprint Stores: Preston Center, Mockingbird Station or Park Lane Shopping Center. They will be able to apply the discount to your service. A special code may be needed. Please contact the Help Desk for the code as it can not be published on our website.
