About Blackboard
OIT provides the Blackboard Learning Management System to the SMU community for online class work. This Web-based collaboration system allows students 24/7 access to curriculum materials and library resources posted by faculty. Blackboard-based courses allow for online test taking, grade management and reporting, class-specific communication and collaboration, and as a repository for curriculum materials.
Access to Blackboard
Faculty and students can view only the courses in which they are either teaching or in which they are enrolled. All SMU customers can login to Blackboard by using their SMU ID and password via the Blackboard login page located at the following Web address: https://courses.smu.edu.
