Who is considered an internal applicant?
Internal applicants are current SMU employees in regular full or part-time staff positions.

Who is eligible to apply for current staff career opportunities?
You are eligible to apply for posted career opportunities, after six months of continuous employment in your current position.

Employees in Step 2 or Step 3 of progressive discipline who are not in good standing cannot apply for posted career opportunities.

If you're an internal applicant, you must apply through the Self Service portal by logging in to https://access.smu.edu.  Internal applicants no longer need to submit an Internal Transfer Form to the Department of Human Resources.

IMPORTANT: If you're a SMU temporary employee or student assistant, do not apply through Self Service. You must apply as an external applicant through www.smu.jobs.
