SMU encourages growth and development for all staff employees. Internal applicants are current SMU staff employees in a regular full-time or part-time position.
Eligibility to Apply:
- If you were hired after 6/1/2013, you are eligible to apply for posted staff opportunities after twelve months of continuous employment in your current position.
- If you were hired before 6/1/2013, you are eligible to apply for posted staff opportunities after six months of continuous employment in your current position.
- Employees in Step 2 or Step 3 of Corrective Action who are not in good standing cannot apply for posted career opportunities.
How to Apply:
If you're an internal applicant, you must apply through the Self Service portal from your my.SMU account. Internal applicants no longer need to submit an Internal Transfer Form to the Department of Human Resources.
IMPORTANT: If you're a SMU temporary staff, adjunct or student assistant, do not apply through Self Service. You must apply as an external applicant through www.smu.jobs.
