Total Orientation Process
SMU & YOU for New Staff Employees
Within the first month, each new employee will be invited to a half-day "SMU & YOU" session where representatives from the Department of Human Recources will help employees further understand their role within the University by exploring the values, culture, and ethics of the the University. Enrollment for this session may be completed in Access.SMU.
Enrollment Instructions:
- Log on to Access.SMU using your 8 digit ID# and password
- Click on Self Service>Learning and Development>Request Training Enrollment>Search by Course Name>Search (leave this field blank)>SMU&YOU>View available Selections
You may choose any session that is currently available, however, please keep in mind that you will need to attend this course within your first 90 days of employment to complete the 90 Day Performance Review.
Training Location:
The sessions will be held in the Department of Human Recourses Training Room #208 located on the second floor of Expressway Tower on East Campus.
Parking at Expressway Tower
Visitors to our office who have a current SMU parking sticker may park in the All University Parking Lot to the east of Expressway Tower (marked in red on the following link).
If you do not have an SMU parking sticker, you should park in any undesignated parking spot in the Expressway Tower parking lot. You may also contact the HR Customer Service Representative for a temporary parking tag. Please note that you are subject to a parking ticket or having your car booted if you are illegally parked.
