New Employee Orientation Checklist for Faculty
This checklist is provided to help you quickly and easily complete all required elements of your Total Orientation Process with SMU. If you have any questions, you may go back to the on-line tutorial content to review the information. You may contact the Department of Human Resources via telephone at (214) 768-3311. Our Customer Service Representative will direct you to the appropriate person to answer your questions.

Benefits Orientation Sessions for New Faculty
Sessions will be offered at Expressway Tower, HR Training Room, Suite 208. Please select one of the sessions below and submit your RSVP here.
- Wednesday, August 6, 2014: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
- Wednesday, August 13, 2014: 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
- Tuesday, August 19, 2014: 8:30 am - 10:30 am
As a visitor to the building, you may park in any undesignated parking spot at the Tower. Please note the Visitor Parking is designated one hour parking and you most likely will be here longer than one hour. If you already have an SMU Parking Permit, make sure you park in the All University Parking lot to the east of the Tower - designated as SMU Parking.

Federal law requires your completion of the Form I-9. Please bring your original, unexpired documents to Human Resources to complete the Form I-9 by your first day of employment. You are not eligible to begin work until the Form I-9 has been completed. Please make arrangements to complete your I-9 in person at:

Tools for Faculty Managers
- TIMEaccess Training for those who will manage non-exempt (hourly) employees
- New Manager Orientation: New Managers may participate in this optional orientation series to learn the tools and resources available to them in their new role.
