Have you noticed that stress never takes a day off? Let's learn how to take our own "Stress Recess" to help us manage ourselves and our health better. Sign up for this challenge and prepare for the semester's end and the holidays!

To earn a credit for this challenge you will need to:
Answer the Lifestyle Questions regarding your stress level every week.
If you prefer, you can answer these questions daily, however the wording will reflect “weekly” since you will only be required to answer 1 time each week.
Complete a pre-program and post-program self-assessment.
You must complete the pre-program assessment
within the first 3 weeks of the program. The post-program assessment
will become available during the last week of the challenge. Links for both of these assessments will be in the Wellpower newsletter sent to participants on Wednesdays during each challenge.
Practice stress reduction techniques daily and log your practice every week. If you prefer, you can answer these questions daily, however the wording will reflect “weekly” since you will only be required to answer 1 time each week. Techniques include: meditation, journaling, prayer, exercise, reading, massage, extra sleep, yoga, positive thinking, or you may use other techniques and designate them as “other.”
Notes: you can go back and log past days during the challenge by changing the calendar function near the top of the MyProgress page.
Remember, no one at SMU has access to your individual health information. The self-assessment information is released only to our Baylor Health Coach, Paige Shouse. Upon your request, she can work with you directly on your wellness goals anytime during the Wellpower program. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to request support from Paige.
Weekly newsletters will be emailed to participants every Wednesday during the challenge. Look for an email from LiveHealthy SMU Wellpower or email@example.com. If you don't receive your newsletter, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know.
How to Sign-Up For The Stress Recess Challenge:
You can sign up as an individual (team of 1) or start/join a team for extra support during this challenge.
For currently enrolled Wellpower participants:
- Log out of Wellpower completely
- Open a new browser window
- Go to wellpower.smu.edu
- Enter “Wellpower” in the “Start a Team” area
- Click Submit
- In the “Returning User Box" Click the “Click here to login” button and update your Team Captain profile (Add any new team members etc…)
- Click submit

New to Wellpower?

When you logon for the first time, you will be enrolled in the Stress Recess challenge.
Both tutorials can be found on the Wellpower Information Videos webpage. Wellpower will add a tutorial, "Stress Recess Challenge Instructions" during the first week of the challenge.
