First published in German in 1835, Christian Gottlob Barth’s Christliche Kirchengeschichte (“History of the Church of Christ”), was an extremely popular Protestant missionary title throughout the nineteenth century. In addition to this Hindi translation, the work was published in Arabic, Marathi, Oriya, Sinhala, and Tamil as well as several European languages.
