[Greek New Testament]. Novum testamentum græcum, cum lectionibus variantibus.Edited by John Mill.
Leipzig: Sons of J. Friedrich Gleditsch, 1723.
The Greek New Testament, which provides theologians with the original language of the Christian scriptures, was only rarely printed with illustrations. This edition with extensive scholarly notes by the English theologian John Mill (1645–1707) is unusual in that it is illustrated with five large engravings that introduce the four Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles. The exhibited illustration, at the beginning of the Gospel of John, depicts Christ’s calling of St. John at the Sea of Galilee.
