Thomas Rought (1772–1845) was ordained as a Methodist preacher on August 6, 1804, at the General Conference in London. This copy of the Minutes from the 1797 Leeds Conference was signed with the customary dedication and presented to him by the Conference President, Henry Moore, and the Secretary, Thomas Coke. The father of the noted Methodist preacher Jabez Rought (1813–1889), Thomas Rought continued his itinerancy until 1826.
