The 2012 Helen Warren DeGolyer Bookbinding Conference

In association with the Sixth Helen Warren DeGolyer Triennial Exhibition and Competition for American Bookbinding, Bridwell Library will host a conference on the art of bookbinding on the campus of Southern Methodist University on Friday, June 8, 2012. The conference will feature:

Morning and afternoon workshops led by Karen Hanmer, Shanna Leino, and Chela Metzger

Lunch presentation by Priscilla Spitler, winner of the 2009 Helen Warren DeGolyer Award for American Bookbinding

Annual meeting of the Lone Star Chapter of the Guild of Bookworkers

General Conference Information
Registration:
The comprehensive registration fee of $40 includes the receptions, lunch, and workshops. Conference participants are asked to select two workshops. Unless otherwise noted, attendees will be responsible for providing their own tools and materials. Workshop presenters will provide a list of necessary materials, which Bridwell Library will then distribute to registrants. Workshops are available on a first-come, first-serve basis as space is limited.

Parking:
If you would like to purchase a parking pass to park on the SMU campus during the conference, please indicate this to Brittany Morgan or on your registration form. The current cost of a parking pass is $3 per day. The pass, a map, and parking instructions will be mailed to you with your registration confirmation.
