Bridwell Library provides academic resources to support the educational programs of Perkins School of Theology and the Graduate Program in Religious Studies. It is the principal bibliographic resource at Southern Methodist University for the fields of theology and religious studies. The library’s particular subject area strengths are Christian thought and theology, Biblical studies, church history and American Methodism.
The types of materials acquired by Bridwell Library include books, serials, microforms, audio/visual media, databases, digital items of all types, and rare materials. As of 2014, the library collection includes 380,000 volumes, subscriptions to 1,100 periodicals and a wealth of information available through numerous microform and digital resources.
