Years at SMU: 9 years
Favorite thing about SMU: I love the people. The students, the staff, the faculty -- everyone loves being here because it is a unique place that is small enough to create a wonderful sense of community and family, yet big enough to offer so many amazing opportunities.
Favorite place on campus: Dedman Center for Lifetime Sports. Not only is the facility one of the nicest places I have ever worked out, I love it because it is a great place to see friendly faces from all over campus. Whether it's fellow employees, students I've worked with in the admission process, or former professors, I always enjoy seeing people I know.
Favorite place in Dallas: The Katy Trail, which is a paved walking/biking/running trail that starts one block from SMU's campus and goes all the way downtown to the American Airlines Center. The scenery along the trail is beautiful and diverse. At times you forget you are in the middle of the city because parts of the trail are lined with beautiful trees and greenery. At other times you are surrounded by great views of uptown and downtown. It's also some of the best people watching in Dallas!
Favorite restaurant near campus: It's impossible for me to narrow this down to just one, so I'll give you two. Peggy Sue's BBQ in Snider Plaza across the street from campus. The brisket quesadilla is my favorite! Then head over to Pokey O's next to the SMU Bookstore to experience one of man's greatest inventions - Blue Bell ice cream sandwiched between two homemade cookies. I could eat one every day.
What I recommend during your stay in Dallas: Eat at a local restaurant, go see at least one museum in The Dallas Arts District, and get an ice cream sandwich at Pokey O's!
