Years at SMU: 11 years

Favorite thing about SMU: There are so many opportunities on campus for undergraduate students that are only offered to graduate students at larger universities. From close interaction with faculty, research internships, and educational travel, SMU students can truly immerse themselves in their majors and minors both inside and outside of the classroom.

Favorite place on campus: The Meadows Museum is extraordinary and houses the largest collection of Spanish art outside of Spain. Located right on campus, it’s nice to take a break and escape to this beautiful and inspiring space.

Favorite place in Dallas: The Texas State Fair in October! “Our state fair is the best state fair” is no exaggeration! Pig races, the Midway and corny dogs are some of the traditions that can’t be missed!

Favorite restaurant near campus: Goff’s Hamburgers! When you go, order a #2 hickory burger with cheddar cheese, fries and a chocolate shake. Be sure to look on the wall at the photos of familiar faces that have eaten at Goff’s!

What I recommend during your stay in Dallas: Walk, roller blade or ride a bike along the Katy Trail! This 6-mile, round-trip path begins a few blocks from SMU and turns around at the American Airlines Center in downtown Dallas. Along the way there are restaurants to stop for a snack.
