Favorite Thing about SMU: The campus is absolutely gorgeous, and when you walk down the Boulevard right before an SMU football game, you can feel the Mustang spirit in the air!
Favorite Place on Campus: Dedman Center for Lifetime Sports. Whether it’s hanging out at The Falls (a wading pool with 7-foot waterfalls) or working out at the cardio overlook, which overlooks the Dallas skyline, it’s a great place to unwind here on campus.
Favorite Place in Dallas: The garden of the Nasher Sculpture Center. With dozens of outdoor sculptures to admire, it’s a little piece of artistic heaven in bustling downtown Dallas.
Favorite Restaurant near Campus: I’m torn! I grew up eating at Kuby’s Sausage House in Snider Plaza. It’s a German specialty market with the best potato pancakes you can find. But Bubba’s (also located in Snider Plaza) gives it a run for top dog. Bubba’s has the BEST fried chicken in Dallas. I’m talking finger-lickin’, Southern-style, home-cooked good.
What I recommend to do while in Dallas: If you have some time, take a walk through the new AT&T Performing Arts Center in Downtown Dallas. It encompasses 10 acres within the Downtown Arts District, boasting several theaters and a beautiful park. It’s a great place to walk around and relax. If you’re staying overnight, you should definitely look at catching a show!
