Favorite thing about SMU: The Boulevard on game day. SMU’s unique tailgating experience is a must-do for any visitor in the fall football season. Once you are in the stadium, don’t miss Peruna, our shetland pony mascot, charging down the field after every touchdown!
Favorite place on campus: In front of Dallas Hall during Celebration of Lights.
Favorite place in Dallas: Sitting on the lawn at the Gexa Energy Pavilion out at Dallas Fair Park for a country music concert.
Favorite restaurant near campus: Torchy’s Tacos! Torchy’s started as a food truck in Austin, TX and recently opened a location right on SMU Blvd. Try the Crossroads taco to get a taste of true Tex-Mex.
What I recommend during your stay in Dallas: Highland Park Village, just a few minutes west of the SMU campus, is a fantastic spot to get a taste of Dallas shopping. During the holiday season, you can also catch a horse drawn carriage ride through the beautiful Highland Park neighborhood.
