Recognizing the unique demands on student athletes, SMU has created the Academic Development of Student Athletes to provide additional resources for academic success and personal growth of at-risk student athletes.

Vision Statement

To provide resources and individual guidance to designated student-athletes for optimal academic and personal growth.

Mission Statement

The Center for the Academic Development of Student-Athletes (ADSA) promotes skill development and self-assessment of designated student-athletes through mentoring, tutoring, and literacy enhancement. A comprehensive growth plan is developed and implemented for designated student-athletes that includes assessment, goal setting, progress monitoring, and accessing university programs. In collaboration with the Altshuler Learning Enhancement Center, the ADSA empowers these student-athletes to meet all eligibility and graduation requirements.
