My research interests focus on the zooarchaeological reconstruction of human subsistence economies on a global scale. I have conducted fieldwork in Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, Texas, and New Mexico, and have assisted in the analyses of North American and European faunal assemblages. Recently, with colleague Charles P. Egeland at the University of Indiana, I have been engaged in conducting experimental research in large mammal carcass butchery. This work is aimed at exploring the multiple variables of the butchery process, in order to expand our understanding of early human subsistence behavior. |
