April 18-20, 2013 marked the third annual weekend celebrating the founding of SMU and celebrated the spirit of SMU and its bold strides toward the next 100 years of achievement.
Celebrating a Vital New Resource
This year, Founders' Day featured a historic celebration as the SMU family welcomes the George W. Bush Presidential Center to our campus. Read the Welcome Ceremony program, and explore reflections from students and faculty on the impact of the Bush Presidential Center. See President Bush's remarks, and view a slideshow of the event. Learn more about SMU's four millionth volume, acquired as the University welcomes the Bush Center and commemorates Founders' Day.
Reconnecting on the Hilltop
The weekend also enabled alumni to reconnect with classmates, professors and students with a class just for alumni, parents and friends. Participants also got an insider's perspective from President R. Gerald Turner, and on Saturday, families met Coach June Jones and the Mustangs and admired the galleries and activities at Meadows Museum.
